WHAT IS IT

An architect is an engineer whose aim is to design and plan buildings and structures in such a way so as to create a healthy balance between aesthetic and functionality thus making it environment friendly. The architect has full knowledge of all technical requirements of a building which include complex engineering details of a home and hence can organise space in a more efficient manner in the space constraint society of today.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Employment avenue for an architect involves government organisations, architectural firms and entrepreneur ventures.

An architect can work in various government organisations like Central Public Works Departments, National Buildings Organisation, Town and Planning Organisation, Housing Urban Development Organisation and City Development Authorities etc.

With the increase in the investment for the construction sector touching new heights every year the demand is outgrowing the supply as a result the country needs thousands of architects every year.

DETAILS OF THE COURSE

A student who has completed his 10+2 with physics, mathematics and chemistry can apply for this course. The selection procedure involves a written test which is conducted by the respective college or by the Council of Architecture.
