Public relations work is absolutely essential to any firm or organization to make people aware of programs, policies & achievements of their company and to be aware of the people’s responses to these policies. Public relation officers co-ordinate various activities which involve writing and editing reports, press releases, articles, newsletters, brochures, leaflets and films through ad agencies. PR work also includes organizing meetings, presentations, press conferences and interviews on special occasions for example on the launch of a new product of the company. Good communication & organizational skills, sociability, presence of mind, creativity, and resilience can help one go places in this competitive public relations world. 

CAREER PROSPECTS

Employment opportunities in the public relations are mainly available with the hotel, tourism industry, public sector enterprises,
government information departments, private consultancy firms, financial organizations, banks and corporate firms. Political leaders
and public figures also require public relation officers. 

COURSE DETAILS 

Courses in public relations can be undertaken after graduation in any stream. There are many one year / two years’ diploma and post graduate diploma courses that offer you specialization in public relations. Mostly, the basis of selection in these courses is a
written test ( to test the communication skills) and an interview.
